Start-up support.
It adds to your own money or eases your first months. Every country has its own schemes, so check yours before you start. Here are three examples, starting with Ireland:
Rules as of November 2026: check them with the organisation concerned.
10working days at most for a decision on a start-up loan, once your application is complete
Microfinance Ireland
It lends to start-ups with no trading history. Apply through your Local Enterprise Office for extra help and a lower rate: 5.5% APR instead of 6.5%.
100%of your social welfare payment kept in year one, then 75% in year two
Back to Work Enterprise Allowance
In Ireland, it is open to people who have been on a qualifying payment such as Jobseeker’s Allowance for at least 9 months. An Employment Personal Adviser and a Local Development Company must approve your business in advance.
80%of a bank loan at most, covered by Finland’s Finnvera Start Guarantee
Public loan guarantees
When your bank wants more security than you can offer, a public guarantee covers part of the loan. Your bank applies for it, not you. Denmark has a similar guarantee through EIFO.
In cash, with a bank loan or with a mix of the two, topped up by start-up support where your country offers it. Either way, the trailer is yours. Base your loan application on your Food Truck Store quote.
It depends on your bank and your country: ask your bank early how much of your own money it expects, and whether equipment you already own can count towards it.
Each country has its own. In Ireland, Microfinance Ireland lends to start-ups with no trading history, and the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance can let you keep your social welfare payment while you start up: all of it in year one, 75% in year two. In Finland, the Finnvera Start Guarantee can cover up to 80% of a bank loan. Our food truck financing guide covers more countries, each with its official source. Rules as of November 2026: check them with the organisation concerned.
If your business has a valid EU VAT number and the trailer is delivered to another EU country, it is invoiced without VAT, under the rules for intra-Community supplies, and you account for the VAT in your own country (article 3 of our terms of sale). Ask your accountant how to treat it in your VAT return.
If you buy directly from Food Truck Store and the financing is shown on your quote, the order only becomes firm once the lender approves it. If the financing is refused, your deposit is refunded on proof of the refusal (article 4 of our terms of sale). If you buy from a distributor, their own terms of sale apply.
